Windsurfing: Littlestone Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: F6-7 Surf / Sea State: Small waves - Strong rip Air Temperature: 7 Sea Temperature: 3 Weather: Rainy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Enjoyed myself yesterday down at Littlestone with Grawp and the Camber
lads. After a 6.45 brekky at my house, Grawp and I headed off to the Romney
marshes in the gloomy morning light and lashing rain. We got there to
discover suprisingly mellow looking conditions (small ankle snapper waves),
but no shortage of wind. After a bit of fannying around and checking out
the options, we rigged up.
I was stacked on my 4.2 and playing it safe by doing lots of short runs and
not venturing very far out, as the wind was slightly offshore and there was
a strong rip. Didn't fancy getting into trouble out there. Despite being
very cautious and also doing a lot of walking, I still had an enjoyable
session in what for me are survival conditions, and I came away feeling
like I'd coped OK and learnt a bit on the way. I'm feeling knackered this
morning, but in a good way...
